The Assistant Director of Admissions position manages the recruitment and admissions operations for the J.D. program at Pepperdine Caruso School of Law. This position will be key in developing and administering business practices and admission processes, as well as problem-solving key issues related to application data/policies/procedures. This position assists in developing content for publications and communications.

Duties

  • Recruit, counsel, and meet with prospective and admitted students. 
  • Manage daily operations, including workflow, application processing, and inbox management. Ensure high levels of customer service.
  • Manage the recruitment journey, committee reviews, applicant notifications, and yield. 
  • Assist in developing content for publications and communications to attract mission-aligned and academically prepared students.
  • Manage the marketing campaigns for prospective and admitted students; collaborate with the Marketing Department on social media efforts.
  • Work with the Dean of Admissions to develop and execute annual admissions events (Open House, Faculty Scholars, and Dinner with the Dean). 
  • Manage the data exchange from the admissions platform (Unite) to the University Student Information System (PeopleSoft), and Etrieve (imaging). 
  • Represent the Office of Admissions and various University groups (PeopleSoft Admissions User Group; Office of International Students).
  • Evaluate select admission files and recommend decisions.
  • Represent Caruso Law at regional and national recruiting events for prospective students.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Uphold the University's mission through work performed.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree and three years of administrative or general office experience. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and be self-motivated to perform tasks with minimal supervision. Commitment to high-level customer service. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask in an outcomes-driven environment. Demonstrated exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality. Working knowledge of Google Suites. Proficiency in web-based systems and applications.

Preferred: Juris Doctor degree. A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in higher education.

This is a Restricted, Exempt, 40 hour per week position.

Expected Pay Range: $67,500 - $75,000 per year 

The above pay range reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level. In addition to base pay, Pepperdine offers a robust and highly competitive benefits package.
