The Technology Support & AV Integration Specialist is an entry-level position focusing on providing user support, troubleshooting technology issues, maintaining audio-visual systems, and assisting with administrative tasks related to technology resources. The Specialist will work closely with the Technology Support Manager and collaborate with student workers to ensure seamless technology integration and a positive user experience.

Duties

  • User Support: Provide timely and effective technical assistance to faculty, staff, and students, resolving issues related to hardware, software, network connectivity, and audio-visual equipment.
  • AV Integration: Set up, configure, and troubleshoot audio-visual equipment in classrooms, meeting rooms, and event spaces. Maintain AV systems in coordination with vendors to ensure optimal performance and functionality. Train and support both Instructional Services and School of Law Events staff as needed.
  • Help Desk Support: Assist with managing the Technology Services help desk, logging and tracking support tickets, and escalating complex issues as needed. Assist the Technology Support Manager with the supervision of student support staff.
  • Documentation and Inventory: Maintain accurate records of technology assets, software licenses, and equipment inventory. Update documentation related to technology procedures and user guides. Manage inventory of technology supplies, ensure adequate stock levels, and maintain organized storage areas for equipment and supplies. Coordinate with Operations and Administration staff as needed.
  • Special Projects: Collaborate with the Technology Support Manager and other select technology staff at the Caruso School of Law on special projects related to technology upgrades, implementations, or large events.
  • Training and Onboarding: Assist with training new users on technology systems and provide onboarding support for new faculty and staff.
  • Other Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Uphold University mission through work performed.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's degree, previous experience in a technical support role or working with audio-visual equipment. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with common software applications and operating systems. Demonstrated alignment with the values of purpose, service, and leadership, as well as a commitment to ethical technology use in support of the university mission.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Previous experience in a technical support role or working with audio-visual equipment in an educational institution.

This is a Restricted, Nonexempt, 40 hour per week position.

Expected Pay Range: $23.79 - $26.44 per hour 

The above pay range reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level. In addition to base pay, Pepperdine offers a robust and highly competitive benefits package.
