The Case Manager provides comprehensive case management support services to Pepperdine University, with a particular focus on assisting individuals served by the Student Title IX Coordinator and the Student Care Team. As a key member of the Student Affairs staff, this individual works closely with students, offering guidance and support while serving as a Christian role model. By ensuring that students receive the necessary resources and support, this role helps empower them to thrive, aligning with the University’s mission to prepare students for lives of purpose, service, and leadership.

Duties

  • Participate in Student Care Team (SCT), Title IX meetings, and other collaborative efforts.
  • Interface with faculty, staff, and parents regarding students needing treatment plans, accommodations, or leaves.
  • Document case management, maintain data, and provide reports regarding students receiving case management services.
  • Intake-manage and assess incoming calls and referrals to SCT and Title IX.
  • Facilitate Seaver 200 Course for first year students on a weekly basis (for seven weeks per semester) as needed, serve on the Residential Emergency Response Team.
  • Provide case management services for students served by the Title IX Coordinator and the Student Care Team; will serve as a resource to other campus departments as needed; engage in research to inform case management best practices; participate in Student Affairs initiatives.
  • Manage crisis situations and provide crisis intervention. Travel as needed to support students in crisis.
  • Identify and develop relationships and referral procedures with off-campus providers.
  • Support programming and prevention education efforts for Student Care and Title IX.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Uphold University mission through work performed.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Master's degree in social work, mental health, or other relevant field. Two years work experience, requiring case management or care coordination responsibilities. Strong ability to collaborate and work independently while keeping appropriate senior staff and SCT team informed. Stellar organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work well with college students, including those in distress. Capacity to manage under high pressured situations. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism. General office software experience.

Preferred: Licensed social worker or other mental health professional. 3 years of case management experience in hospital setting or higher education. Demonstrated case management skills (assessment, coordinated care planning, service linkage, program development, outreach and training facilitation skills). Ability to recognize and maintain healthy professional boundaries among students and colleagues. Microsoft Office, Database maintenance, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, and ability to navigate social media platforms.

This is a Restricted, Nonexempt, 40 hour per week position.

Expected Pay Range: $25.96 - $28.84 per hour 

The above pay range reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level. In addition to base pay, Pepperdine offers a robust and highly competitive benefits package.
