The Administrative Assistant, Seaver Deans Office exists to assist the Seaver College Deans in achieving goals of the college.

Duties

  • Assist the Associate Deans in various tasks including but not limited to reallocating and substantiating credit card charges, coordinating attendance at meetings, managing campus event details, maintaining relevant web pages, making business travel arrangements, etc.
  • Arrange and attend meetings and take minutes, manage related electronic documents and records for the Seaver Academic Council as well as for other committee meetings attended and led by the Associate Deans. 
  • Provide support to the Manager of Administrative Services on a variety of ongoing organizational projects such as proofreading and editing documents, processing paper and electronic files, etc. 
  • Research, share, implement best business practices.
  • Process Change of Final Exam requests, Directed Studies and Special Topics forms.
  • Assist the chair of the Academic Integrity Committee with correspondence and record keeping.
  • Support the Seaver Dean's Office with phone coverage, editing/proofreading, PeopleSoft, Internal and External vendor request forms, etc. 
  • Assist the Associate Dean with assignments supporting the College's student assessment commitment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Uphold University mission through work performed.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's degree; computer literacy; One year of administrative or office experience. Excellent writing skills; ability to maintain confidentiality; high degree of attention to detail; ability to work with a variety of people; public relations skills; ability to function under pressure; ability to work efficiently; aptitude and willingness to learn; time- and people-management skills; a sense of humor. Experience with Microsoft Office; Google-powered email, calendars, document creating and sharing; PC or Mac; copier, fax, phone.

Preferred: PeopleSoft student records training; knowledge of Pepperdine; college or University office experience. Experience with PeopleSoft.

This is a Regular, Nonexempt, 40 hour per week position.

Expected Pay Range: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

The above pay range reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level. In addition to base pay, Pepperdine offers a robust and highly competitive benefits package.
