This position is a Grade: 7 - 37.5 with an approximate salary range of $34,090-$40,920 and is subject to change based on experience, skills and qualifications.
What You'll Be Doing
- Serve as the first point of contact for the Chemistry Department, greeting visitors and managing incoming calls, mail, and general inquiries with professionalism
- Provide direct secretarial and administrative support to the Department Chairperson, including calendar management, correspondence, and meeting coordination
- Support faculty with scheduling, document preparation, travel arrangements, and expense processing
- Maintain department records, files, and databases to ensure accuracy and accessibility for staff and leadership
What You Bring
- High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's Degree preferred
- One to three years of work related experience
- Experience working in an academic department may substitute for a particular degree
- Demonstrated experience in a receptionist, administrative assistant, or clerical support role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with close attention to detail
- Ability to manage competing priorities and shifting deadlines under moderate supervision
- Comfort working within a university or higher-education environment, where faculty and student needs vary widely across the academic calendar
- A collaborative, service-oriented approach that reflects the collegial culture of Lehigh's College of Arts & Sciences
