At LCRA, Lost Pines Power Park in Bastrop, TX., we are searching for a highly motivated and dedicated instrumentation technician interested in working in the field of Power Generation! This position is an important part of LCRA’s Electric Generation team. As part of our critical mission to support power to the Texas electric grid and LCRA customers, the successful candidate will apply creativity and their knowledge of field electronics, radio telemetry, calibrations, and data collection to solve real-world problems and keep mission-critical power plant data flowing to decision makers.

Candidates should reside within 30 minutes of LCRA's General Office Complex in west Austin and be available for work during occasional nights, weekends and holidays. If you would like to be part of LCRA's critical mission to manage water supply and manage floods on the Highland Lakes and the Colorado River, we would be excited to hear from you!

You will be trusted to:

- Monitor proper operation of plant equipment and systems within assigned area of responsibility.
- Work weekly schedules including corrective and preventative maintenance and entering detailed data into Maximo system reporting tool.
- Identify potential and actual problems and determine appropriate corrective actions to be taken.
- Document work into logs, files, system prints and other records and through communications, both oral and written, with
other team members and supervisors.
- Operate handheld testing, calibration, installation and maintenance tools and equipment.

You qualify with:

- Nine or more years' experience in installation, maintenance and/or repair of instrumentation, control equipment or monitoring equipment or relevant experience.
- Degree in electronics, instrumentation, SCADA, engineering technology or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.  
- Driver's license required if traveling to work at various locations.

You are a great fit with:

- Experience with Maximo system reporting, monitoring system functionality and logic schemes
- Experience with field electronics and calibration methods.
- Experience with SCADA/DCS (Foxboro, WDPF, Ovation, Woodward)
- Experience with troubleshooting equipment using Fluke meter, and other similar devices.
