At LCRA, our Dam and Hydro Operations team is seeking an electrician to work at Buchanan and Inks dams located in Llano/Burnet, TX! This is a phenomenal opportunity to work at a non-profit organization and serve Central Texans with electricity and water supply. This position works with a small team that is responsible for the operation and maintenance of hydroelectric generators, floodgates, and powerhouses at both facilities. We are looking for someone experienced with medium voltage (6.9-13.8 kV) equipment and associated safety requirements. An understanding of power generation principles is a plus. The work we perform is important and our critical operations require 24-hour response for flood operations and unit repairs. You will be trusted to:
- Install, maintain, remove, inspect, test, and repair electric motors, generators, floodgates, electrical circuit breakers, condensers, transformers, switches, communication systems, and electrical and electronic control equipment and wiring. - Locate and repair failures in electrical and electronic circuits and equipment; install test apparatus on all electrical equipment. Implement solutions to electrical and electronic control system problems. - Perform maintenance, repair and operational / diagnostic tests as required on all power apparatus in dams, power plants, or other installations. Record test results. Develop and prepares summary of test results in reports. - Install and maintain lighting, and other types of electrical equipment at power plants, communications facilities, substations, pump houses, dams and other locations.

You qualify with:
- Four or more years of experience in maintenance and/or construction of electrical power generation, transmission, distribution, substation and control equipment, and/or other types of electrical equipment, including experience reading blueprints or other relevant experience. A degree(s) in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, industrial maintenance or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience. - Driver's license required for incumbents assigned to the dam & hydro function. - Class A Texas commercial driver's license or equivalent from another state required for incumbents with heavy equipment operation and transportation responsibilities.
You are a great fit with:
- Knowledge of TDLR information/licensing. - Current Electrical License - Journeyman License or above - Experience working in a hydro facility with generators and floodgates.
