LCRA Structural and Civil Engineering group has an opportunity for an expert, dedicated, professional that has experience in structural engineering, designing, and overseeing of construction projects. We want you to bring your outside experience to support LCRA in a fast-paced inspiring work culture. You will join a team that is responsible for outsourced projects from the beginning of the design phase to construction completion. You will be directly involved with electrical substation projects across Texas that improve the quality of life of the communities we serve. We are a group that thrives on finding innovative ways to accomplish our work, improve processes, and interact collaboratively with various colleagues across the organization.
Our primary function is to support the design, construction, and maintenance of electrical substations owned by both LCRA and LCRA TSC. In this effort, we scope and design all the structural and civil components associated with all existing and new substations and expansions. We also support the land acquisition of access roads and property for all new substation projects and expansions.
You will be trusted to:
- This role provides engineering oversight on projects that are outsourced to engineering consulting firms. You will coordinate and review the work of engineering partners. - Interprets engineering drawings and applies project management practices. - Identifies, investigates, and analyzes problems in coordination with the engineering partner. Develops appropriate solutions. Drafts reports. Collaborates with project consultant and specialist. - Coordinates project reviews and implementation plans between individuals and sections. Ensures timely communication occur. - Communicates necessary changes to the responsible engineer for correction. - Prepares and revises operating procedures and project outlines in connection with engineering assignments. Follows appropriate business procedures. - Recommends new and improved practices and procedures related to assigned area. Develops and conducts presentations to management and others.

You qualify with:
- Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas - Driver's license
You are a great fit with:
- Structural Engineer qualifies with an extensive background in analysis and design of structural steel and shallow and deep foundations. - Professional Engineer Licensed in the State of Texas. - Five to eight years of engineering experience. - Have knowledge of RISA 3D, MFAD, L-PILE - Have knowledge of AISC and ASCE guides
These are the qualities for a best fit candidate: - A background in the following areas will further strengthen the qualifications for this position - - Structural design background one or more of the following: High rise structures, warehouses, buildings, bridges etc - Reviewing structural design drawings - Comfortable with multi-tasking across a range of deliverables, asking questions, independently tracking down answers, and are highly organized, resourceful, creative, and collaborative.
