At LCRA, we are seeking a dedicated Technician to provide oversight to construction and future Operations & Maintenance of our upcoming peaking power plant. This pivotal role includes overseeing contractor tasks throughout construction and commissioning, guaranteeing a seamless shift to facility operation. Your skills and knowledge will be instrumental in the continuous operation and maintenance of the facility. You will be trusted to:
- Coordinate between Contractors, Engineering, and fellow LCRA Teammates for construction and commissioning activities. - Use basic computer skills for communications, training, and administrative duties - Utilize a technical skill set (mechanic, electrician, I&C) for maintenance duties - Operate heavy equipment not limited to forklifts, manlifts, skid steers, etc. - Operate engineered systems for power production
You qualify with:
- Six or more years of experience in power plant operations or power plant maintenance, or other relevant experience, including two or more years in the craft discipline in the assigned area of specialty. - Driver’s license
You are a great fit with:
- Experience operating or maintaining reciprocating internal combustion engines - Experience in preventative maintenance for mechanical, electrical, and/or instrument and controls for power plant systems - Knowledge of power plant operations and maintenance principles and standards - Ability to understand and follow operating procedures/guidelines, safety and environmental rules and regulations
