At LCRA, we are seeking a dedicated and motivated Power Plant Electrician to join our FPP team! This is an opportunity to utilize experience in a coal-fired power plant or a similar industrial setting. In this role, key responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing motor control circuits by interpreting complex prints and schematics using test meters. The position offers opportunities for professional growth and development, along with overtime and on-call duties. Note: Living within an hour of the facility is essential to ensure a timely response to trouble calls.
You will be trusted to:
- Work independently or in a team capacity - Openly communicate ideas and thoughts in a clear and concise manner to leaders and peers - Use test meters to troubleshoot electrical issues from simple to complex systems - Read and understand prints, schematics, and operating manuals - Work in a safe manner personally and follow safety rules pertaining to LOTO and safety rule book
You qualify with:
- Two or more years of experience in maintenance and/or construction of electrical power generation, transmission, distribution, substation and control equipment, and/or other types of electrical equipment, including experience reading blueprints or relevant experience. - A degree(s) in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, industrial maintenance or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience. - Class A Texas commercial driver's license or equivalent from another state required for incumbents with heavy equipment operation and transportation responsibilities.

- Experience working in the electrical field - Experience working in an industrial facility maintaining large electrical motors, breakers, electronic motor protection relays, MCC bucket troubleshooting, motor soft starters experience, AC motor drive experience. - Experience operating forklifts, man lifts, cranes and other vehicles as needed.
