Department Summary
The UNT System Human Resources Department is one department made of a team of teams that supports various constituencies and component institutions within our UNT System Enterprise while working together to achieve the vision of becoming an enterprise that is values-driven and customer-focused with an emphasis on excellence, curiosity, and innovation. Position Overview
The Human Resources Manager manages human resources consultation and support to designated business units and provides consultation and guidance to assigned HR staff regarding administration of human resources policies, procedures, and resolution of a wide variety of human resources issues in the areas of employee relations, workplace investigations, performance management, compensation, benefits and leave, employee engagement, compliance, policy interpretation, and institutional effectiveness measures.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration or related field and six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in HR or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Knowledge of principles and practices of management including planning, organizing, directing, motivating and decision making. * Knowledge of the principles and practices of human resource management, to include a knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing personnel activities. * Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations both verbally and in writing. * Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. * Strong employee relations, counseling and coaching skills. * Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills. * Ability to explain policies and procedures to staff and the public, and to maintain confidential and sensitive information. * Skill in using office computer information systems to organize, store, manipulate and retrieve data. * Strong critical thinking skills. * Ability to work in a fast paced environment, with frequently changing priorities. * Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
*PHR/SPHR or SHRMCP/SCP Certification. *Experience working with PeopleSoft Human Capital Management System. *Proficient in applying conflict resolution skills and mediation techniques.

- % - Utilizes knowledge of various human resources functions to provide tactical support, professional counsel, advice, and service to university constituents to help facilitate the success of the university’s mission and serves on campus-wide committees - ()
- % - Oversees employee CARE team functions, serves as campus employee wellbeing initiative liaison. - ()
- % - Directly supervises, coaches, and directs the work of assigned HR staff and student employees, assisting with professional development and overseeing daily operations and providing guidance on employee relations matters and ensuring operational efficiencies and compliance requirements are maintained. - ()
- % - Maintains an effective level of business acumen regarding the higher education industry, institutional knowledge, and literacy regarding business units, including core business, culture, and short- and long-range plans. - ()
- % - Leads special projects and initiatives, conducts research, and analyzes information to determine trends, and develops and implements action plans. - (Essential)
