We are pleased to announce that we have two exciting opportunities for a Risk Advisor to join our Risk Advisory team in Auckland on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
The Line 1 Risk Advisor (Delivery) provides first-line risk support and advice for change initiatives delivered by Tribes, Platforms, and COEs. This role involves identifying and supporting management of risks, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring adherence to delivery guardrails, including documentation and escalation processes.
The advisor coaches the delivery teams on risk management practices, enhances governance and assurance processes, and supports compliance with risk and control frameworks. The role also focuses on improving risk identification, assessment, and continuous improvement efforts. Additionally, the advisor works with Risk Managers to ensure ongoing management of delivered risks and their impacts. The role interacts with various risk teams and stakeholders across the organization to ensure effective risk management.
The role:
- Provision of project risk advice and support to ensure delivery teams conduct assessment activity and manage delivery as per the Suncorp delivery risk management standards, governance framework and guardrails.
- Delivery of risk training to delivery teams.
- Provide insight and support to the SNZ Line 1 Risk Advisory teams to facilitate uplift in risk practices via outcomes of Delivered and Delivery Risk Assessments.
- Ensure that business practices are in line with expectations and that the balance between business specific needs and risk level consistency is met.
- Identification of risks and issues within the business to ensure we are providing our customers with a high quality, market leading experience.
- Actively share learnings and insights broadly across the Risk community to foster a learning culture and uplift capability
- Support and execute on the three lines of defence risk model as set out by the Suncorp Board
- Help the business to truly know and understand risks and obligations, through building capability and maturity.
To be successful:
- Relevant degree in Business, Law or related field
- Minimum of two (2) years risk, compliance, audit or project management experience
- Minimum five (5) years of appropriate industry experience in general insurance
- Demonstrated experience in influential communication to senior management
- Demonstrated experience in coaching and mentoring for high performance
- Experience in communications and change management (highly regarded)
- Experience with PPM and IMB open pages a bonus
