About The Role

Reporting to Manager AK&T Strategic Planning, this is a full time, permanent role within the Service & Asset Lifecycle team. As the Senior Strategist Geospatial Systems, you will be responsible for the development of strategy and leading the improvement of Melbourne Water’s use of geospatial systems and associated processes.

  • Developing strategies for Melbourne Water’s future business needs related to geospatial systems in alignment with enterprise architecture
  • Developing multiyear roadmaps of business capability aligned with MW prioritised strategic needs covering technical domains that include Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other operational support applications.
  • Developing long term investment plans that inform capital prioritisation and pricing submissions for system improvements.
  • Preparing the geospatial component of the annual capital works program that aligns with the business capability roadmap.
  • Maximising value in solution planning by staying abreast of new technologies, product futures and industry trends.
  • Providing subject matter expertise and strategic advice into development of technical standards.
  • Providing subject matter expert advice as needed for complex program and project decisions.

About You

  • Relevant degree in geospatial information and technologies or equivalent combination    of experience and qualification
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret, develop, communicate and implement technology or information systems strategy, plans and processes for a broad range of stakeholders
  • Experience in GIS systems, preferably the Esri ArcGIS platform, and the application of such systems to asset management and works management processes
  • Extensive experience in the successful implementation of business change activities
  • Expertise in technology improvement planning aligned to strategy and business engagement
  • VIC Drivers licence and AusCheck required
