About the role
In this role, you will:
- Assist the Project Manager to plan, lead, organise and control project resources, in human and equipment capital terms, to meet both client and TCI targets in a safe and cost-effective manner.
- Co-ordinate establishment, monitoring and update of all project plans, budget, program resource requirements to ensure delivery of the project on time and to budget;
- Manage site budgets; Meet budget productivity and utilisation rates;
- Meet, as a minimum, overburden and coal mining targets in accordance with internally generated mine plans;
- Constantly achieve, and exceed, benchmark KPI’s in terms of equipment performance, cost control, coal recovery and overall production targets;
- Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of monthly financial reporting;
- Maximise profitability to satisfy or exceed financial goals of the project; identify areas for operational efficiency and deliver on commitments;
- Actively investigate enhancement to procedures and process that achieve Improvements in performance, job satisfaction, and productivity;
- Provide effective and ethical leadership which is innovative to the extent it needs to be to meet changing and challenging conditions;
- Establish and maintain a harmonious client relationship to assist project delivery and enhance client satisfaction;
- Manage relationship with subcontractors to ensure a high level of performance in terms of time, cost and quality;
- Maintain good relations with community figure heads.
About you
- Bachelor's degree in Mine Engineering, Survey or related mining discipline – essential; must have 5 years experiences as a Deputy Project Manager Mining experience with stable employment background with a minimum of 10 years professional experience in production/service supervision/management role.
- Have experience at mine planning, subcontract management, cost management and managing staff
- Comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction/mining management principles and practices and the associated flow of design and construction/mining project management, Tendering process,Financial concepts; Hold POU certificate of Mine Energy Department is desirable; OHS&E requirements Legislative and statutory requirements
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; good in coaching/mentoring and negotiation/mediation; good analytical; conflict resolution; sound decision making skills
- Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and computer literate.
