What can our construction projects build for you?

CPB Contractors along with our industry partners has been selected as preferred proponent to deliver two major packages for the Cross River Rail Projects: the Tunnel, Stations and Development (TSD) package and the Rail, Integration and Systems (RIS) package. Cross River Rail is a new 10.2-kilometre rail line from Dutton Park to Bowen Hills, which includes 5.9 kilometers of tunnel under the Brisbane River and the CBD.

The RIS package is crucial to the overall delivery and success of Cross River Rail, and its integration with the Queensland Rail network.  RIS will be delivered by the UNITY Alliance which brings CPB Contractors, UGL, AECOM and Jacobs together with partners HASSEL, RCS Australia, Acmena, Martinus Rail and WIRED Overhead Solutions to deliver the full scope of works over the next five years. This includes:

  • Rail civil and electrical works
  • Brownfield rail surface works primarily to the north of the tunnel, including an upgrade of Exhibition Station and a major augmentation of Mayne Yard
  • Upgrade of seven suburban stations to the south
  • Rail operational systems works
  • Rail signalling works and communication, and integration and commission activities

Your opportunity

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, CPB Contractors have an opportunity for a Senior Contracts Administrator and will be responsible for:

  • Addressing contractual matters with client/consultants, contractors/suppliers and negotiating variations, claims, EOT and mitigating any contractual disputes
  • Supervising the contract administration team to ensure all contract agreements are administered in accordance with the conditions and provisions of the contract agreements (including correspondence, variations, claims and payments).
  • Supporting the procurement team members, with the preparation and administration of all supply and contractor agreements, including: inclusion of back-to-back main contract conditions; drafting and insertion of relevant special conditions; inclusion of all necessary technical data, drawings and specifications; and inclusion of appropriate time / schedule information and provisions
  • Administering of forecasting / contractor rate library and valuations
  • Assisting with the preparation and review of the project monthly report where required, including providing workings completed, programme and cost data
  • Leading and developing an effective and productive team, including managing the work performance of self and team members, and developing alignment between team capability and the functions business objectives

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying/Construction Management/Economics/Law/Business
  • 5 – 7 years of relevant experience in a similar role
  • Robust understanding of relevant legislation (particularly BIF (SOPA) Act)
  • Detailed knowledge and demonstrated high level experience in project management, planning, budgeting, and cost control
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and the ability to interpret and apply contracts
  • Demonstrated high level decision making, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve conflict in a high stress environment
  • Demonstrated strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
