About the Role

As a Nurse Unit Manager, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and leading the delivery of patient/client care within a dynamic Health Unit or Community Service. Your expertise and clinical experience will enable you to effectively manage nursing and multi-disciplinary team activities, ensuring the continuity and quality of care and improved patient/client outcomes. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, driving high standards of care, and ensuring a seamless experience for patients and their families.

In this leadership role, you will be accountable for nursing and multidisciplinary outcomes, ensuring that practices align with policies and standards. You will also be tasked with fostering a positive work culture, developing team performance, and addressing any discrepancies between practice and policy. Your leadership will help build a supportive and efficient environment that prioritises exceptional patient care and encourages ongoing professional growth within the team.

About You

We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Registered Nurse or Midwife with leadership potential to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Registered or eligible for registration with the Nursing Board of Australia, holding or eligible for a current practising certificate.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to foster a positive, person-centred care environment.
  • At least 3 years of post-registration experience, with demonstrated competence in nursing and/or midwifery practice and leadership roles.
  • A solid understanding of relevant legislation, quality standards, and contemporary healthcare issues, with experience in change management and risk management practices.
