Are you an experienced Psychologist passionate about mental health recovery and rehabilitation?

This is an exciting opportunity for an Ongoing Permanent Psychology-specific role, with inbuilt flexibility to nominate your workdays (0.5FTE), plus an additional potential to apply for your choice of further hours up to 1.0FTE within SALHN Mental Health Services.

This is an opportunity to provide your Psychology-specific and evidence-based assessment, treatment and care planning skills within business hours, alongside the support of a 24-hour Multidisciplinary team of highly skilled Clinicians who are eager to work collaboratively. Alongside easy access to a wider network of Psychologists that meet regularly during paid work hours for Collegial Support, Professional Development, Peer consultation and Supervision.

About the role: 

Duties for the role will include:

  • Providing a range of quality, evidence-based, and outcome-driven psychological interventions for residents.
  • Contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of specialist psychology programs, including group programs.
  • Providing specialist psychologist treatments for targeted residents, as well as family work and support for carers as appropriate.
  • Conducting clinical evaluations to develop and implement service improvement programs related to rehabilitation and recovery.
  • Contributing to the effective and collaborative functioning of the multidisciplinary team.

About you:

You are an outcome-driven psychologist with proven experience delivering specialist psychological services to people living with severe psychiatric illness and disability. You thrive in a collaborative team environment and are dedicated to promoting rehabilitation and recovery frameworks.

  • Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification and general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Proven experience in the delivery of a range of psychology services, including psychological assessment and specialist therapeutic interventions, to people with severe psychiatric illness and disability.
  • High level of competence in designing and implementing evidence-based psychological interventions, including individual and group work.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and provide consultation within a multidisciplinary health care team.
  • Must hold a current and valid driver’s licence
