We are looking for a dedicated , driven, experienced Registered Nurse for a McGrath Cancer Care Nurse (MCCN) Nurse Consultant role for Bladder and Renal Cancer. The MCCN provides care, information, and support for people with invasive bladder and renal cancer across the continuity of care pathways and multidisciplinary teams. 

The position is funded for a 3 year period at 0.84 FTE (32 hours per week). 

This role will provide collaborative clinical and supportive care for people and their families.

  • Deliver expert clinical care and emotional support across the cancer care continuum for patients with invasive bladder and renal cancers.

About You:

You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold (or eligible to hold) a current practicing certificate.

You will have at least five years’ experience as a Registered Nurse, including at least three years’ experience in oncology, palliative care or urology.

You will have knowledge and understanding of the McGrath Cancer Care Nurse Model of Care, and the ability to demonstrate skills in leadership, with an understanding of the importance of building internal and external relationships, including the McGrath Foundation Cancer Care Nurse service.

In this role you will have strong interpersonal and communication skills which will enable you to successfully engage in difficult and sensitive conversations.

Lyell McEwin Hospital The major hospital in the north and north-east for emergency care, complex and multi-day surgery, medicine, obstetrics, paediatrics and outpatient services.

Modbury Hospital A general hospital with emergency care, elective surgery, medicine, outpatient and sub-acute services, rehabilitation, geriatric and palliative care.
