About the role

This role involves delivering specialised, culturally sensitive healthcare to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals affected by Domestic and Family Violence. You will provide high-quality clinical care within a multidisciplinary team, lead culturally appropriate interventions, and collaborate with community groups and health organisations to enhance support services.

Key duties of the role

  • Deliver and document culturally informed, multidisciplinary health services, including intake, assessment, and referrals.
  • Provide high-level health services to encourage Aboriginal consumers' active participation in their healthcare.
  • Apply expert knowledge of service sectors and referral pathways to ensure appropriate consumer support.
  • Undertake data collection and evaluation to drive continuous improvement of clinical services aligned to the Model of Care.

Skills and Experience

  • Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care or equivalent lived experience and willingness to undertake Certificate IV.
  • Possess or willingness to undertake relevant modules at Diploma level
  • Eligible for registration (if Certificate IV has been achieved) with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practice Board of Australia, or willing to seek registration if required.
  • Known, respected and connected within Aboriginal communities of South Australia and demonstrated ability to work in a culturally sensitive and accountable manner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families and communities and non-Aboriginal individuals whilst maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Providing guidance to non-Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff in the context of service provision to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers.
