About the role: 

Reporting to the Ambulatory Allied Health Team Manager, some of your duties for the role will include:

  • Attending and actively participating in clinical meetings (eg Discharge Planning meetings, Case Conferences, team meetings etc) as required
  • Encouraging the active participation of patients and their families/carers in their assessment, treatment, and discharge planning
  • Contributing to the strategic planning for occupational therapy services across relevant work areas, incorporating regular evaluation of services and reporting on quality improvement activities
  • Working with the leadership team to monitor workloads and clinical outcomes, effectively managing own individual performance against agreed objectives and in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice

About you:

  • Demonstrated experience working as a clinician across the across the acute care or ambulatory care setting
  • Be flexible, adaptive and responsive to change, aligning with key organisational priorities and particularly in an environment with competing demands and changing service partners
  • Undertake a broad range of occupational therapy assessment and treatment techniques such as initial assessment functional assessment, cognitive assessment, home assessment, equipment prescription, functional retraining, work simplification/energy conservation and discharge planning
  • Utilise high level communication skills to effectively work with, and resolve issues and conflict with, people with diverse value systems, cultural differences and special needs, including clients, multi-disciplinary health professionals, other organisations and providers, and the community
