  • Ongoing role working 48 hours per fortnight over a 7-day roster 

 

WHAT ARE WE OFFERING?

This Cook role offers the opportunity to play a key part in delivering high-quality food services that support the health, wellbeing and daily operations of the health unit. You will be responsible for ensuring food production and distribution are maintained to appropriate standards in an efficient and effective manner.

Working at Level 5, you will contribute to menu planning, special diet preparation, food ordering and quality control, while providing guidance and support to other catering and general services staff. The role also involves the use of electronic systems, oversight of meal services, and collaboration with dietitians, nursing staff and procurement teams to meet client needs within a safe, compliant and supportive environment.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Are you experienced in food production and service within a commercial or institutional setting?
  • Do you have the ability to interpret procedures, program work functions and operate complex equipment?
  • Are you confident supervising staff and providing guidance to others?
  • Do you demonstrate a strong commitment to food quality, safety, teamwork and continuous improvement?

HOW WILL YOU CONTRIBUTE?

  • Prepare, plate and oversee the distribution of meals and beverages.
  • Order and manage production and non-production food supplies.
  • Balance menus and prepare special diets, dietary fluids and infant formulas.
  • Supervise staff, support apprentices and maintain daily rosters.
  • Liaise with clinical staff and procurement to meet food requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with WHS, infection control and confidentiality requirements.
