About the Role:

A meaningful and rewarding opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Community Geriatric Evaluation Management (CGEM) team within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network. This role plays a vital part in supporting older adults and enhancing health outcomes across the community.

As a Senior Social Worker, you will contribute to the development, coordination and delivery of high‑quality geriatric services across both community and inpatient settings. Working within the Northern Adelaide Geriatrics Service, you will:

  • provide comprehensive Social Work services across the geriatric care continuum
  • collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to plan and deliver therapeutic interventions aligned with patient goals
  • supervise and support Social Work staff and students, fostering professional growth and high‑quality practice
  • contribute to service improvement through policy development, research initiatives and evaluation activities
  • maintain accountability for your own professional standards while guiding less experienced staff
  • support the implementation of the Statewide Generic Core Competencies Framework.

To be eligible for this position, you must hold an appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.

About You:

You will bring a high level of clinical expertise, leadership capability and a commitment to person‑centred care. Your strengths include extensive experience in Social Work assessment, intervention and case management within geriatric or acute care settings; strong problem‑solving, conflict‑resolution and decision‑making abilities; excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare accurate and timely clinical documentation; proven leadership skills, including staff supervision, mentoring and team collaboration; ability to work autonomously and within an interdisciplinary team, managing competing priorities with flexibility and resilience; and experience in service development, program evaluation and implementation of policies and procedures in a healthcare environment.
