Overview:

  • The Commission on Excellence and Innovation in Health (CEIH) Chief Analyst is responsible for leading the overall design, integrity and management of analytics solutions, and associated CEIH standards including visualisations, algorithms and models, data warehouses, data models, master and meta data management solutions ensuring that current and future clinical informatics requirements can be met, maintained and sustained.  The role leads and manages the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of critical components of a clinical informatics service including ensuring that solutions are agile, robust and reliable to enable the successful delivery of a wide range of projects.

  • The CEIH Chief Analyst manages and astutely guides project teams to be flexible, diplomatic, supportive, driven and persistent and to ensure that the mission critical components of analytics solutions are able to be supported at all times.

  • The role fosters and maintains relationships, partnerships and networks with senior staff across the health sector, including SA Health, to promote knowledge sharing and build capability in clinical informatics.  The CEIH Chief Analyst also drives a customer focus including consumers, clinicians, the Minister, operational managers and executives, to support insight driven decision making which ensures appropriate, safe and quality services for patients in South Australia.

  • In addition, the position is responsible for proactively researching, evaluating, and initiating the introduction of new, leading-edge tools and technologies to ensure the latest technology to meet business requirements.

Criminal History Screening Requirement

  • A ‘National Police Certificate’ NPC (also known as a ‘Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check’ NCCHC) for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position (general employment).
  • A DHS ‘Working With Children Check’ (WWCC) is required for this position.

Immunisation Risk for this position is Category C (minimal patient contact).

SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.

Special Conditions

  • For appointment in a Prescribed Position under the Child Safety (Prohibited Persons) Act (2016), a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required from the Department for Human Services Screening Unit.  For other positions, a satisfactory National Police Certificate (NPC) assessment is required.
  • ForPrescribed Positions’ under the Child Safety (Prohibited Persons) Act (2016), the individual’s WWCCs must be renewed every 5 years from the date of issue; and for ‘Approved Aged Care Provider Positions’ every 3 years from date of issue as required by the Accountability Principles 2014 issued pursuant to the Aged Care Act 1997 (Cth).
