  • Classification: HEO5 - Base salary from $84,084 + 17% superannuation

About the position

This position is based within the Science cluster of the Facilities and Technical Services (FTS) team, supporting the School of Agriculture, Biomedicine and Environment (SABE) at the Bundoora campus. It is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and effective operation of teaching laboratories. Working collaboratively with academic and professional staff to provide specialist advice and maintain laboratory equipment and support practical classes and activities.

Including a range of technical services and advice to ensure the effective maintenance of the capability and operation of our teaching laboratories.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have:

  • Completion of a degree with subsequent relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of scientific teaching and/or research equipment/facilities, with respect to operations, maintenance and problem solving.
  • Demonstrated capacity to organise work effectively and efficiently, set priorities and deliver outputs in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and take responsibility for outcomes.
  • Demonstrated well-developed analytical and technical problem-solving capability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated customer service focus and solution orientated approach. The ability to respond to people positively, confidently and with respect.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety regulations and procedures and a commitment to maintaining safe laboratory practices.
