We’re excited to announce an opportunity for a Logistics Agent on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract or Secondment basis.

In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our daily fulfilment operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently. You’ll be responsible for managing the distribution of primary bulk, primary cylinder, and secondary bulk and cylinder movements, with a focus on maximising the efficiency of our drivers and vehicles.

Your commitment to safety will be key as you actively participate in meeting site safety requirements. Additionally, you’ll play a vital role in transport planning by effectively managing customer master data.

Contribute to fostering a positive safety culture within the team, enhancing safety accountability. Support site management in meeting regulatory compliance obligations, including health and safety, transport regulations, and adherence to internal inventory and procurement processes. Liaise with onsite vehicle workshops to ensure compliance with periodic maintenance inspections and MOTs and ensure vehicle compliance checks are conducted according to KPI requirements. Work closely with the Transport Planning team to ensure the efficient routing of all available vehicles, and effectively handle customer complaints related to transport activities. Ensure timely reporting of all transport-related incidents, following the Vehicle Incident and Driver protocol. Reconcile all loads promptly, ensure driver debriefs are reported, and master data is updated. Monitor all instances of driver noncompliance identified through telematics software. Lastly, support a customer-centric approach, delivering excellent customer service in all aspects of the cylinder and bulk business.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should have experience working within the transport or logistics sector, along with a solid knowledge of driver hours rules and regulations. They should also have a good understanding of vehicle compliance and defect procedures, as well as occupational health and safety-related processes. A professional attitude is essential, with a willingness to lead by example and foster a positive team spirit. Experience with MS Office and SA is required. The candidate should be well-organized, a clear communicator with strong communication skills, and have a strong focus on safety and compliance.

Here’s what we have to Offer

We’re excited to offer a range of fantastic benefits to our team! You’ll start with 25 days of annual leave, which increases with your time with us, plus all the usual statutory bank holidays. Enjoy single private medical insurance, and if you’d like to add family coverage, you can do so at a discounted rate.

Our pension plan is designed to support you, with an initial 4.5% contribution from us, increasing to 7.5% after two years. From day one, you’ll also have life assurance coverage of four times your salary. After two years, you’ll benefit from income protection covering 50% of your salary.
