About the role

As our new Communications Advisor, you’ll play a key role in delivering engaging content across internal and external channels, supporting campaigns, and collaborating with stakeholders across the organisation. You’ll bring strong writing skills, a proactive mindset, and a genuine interest in connecting people through meaningful communication.

We work in the service industry – delivering high quality aged care, disability, retirement and education services to over 9,000 Victorians. Go home each day knowing you’ve made a difference in people’s lives by joining a values-oriented team, committed to helping improve the lives of others.

We’re in a terrific city location, just 1 min walk from Parliament station, with easy access to plenty of shopping, cafes and bars nearby.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and deliver content for newsletters, internal communications, social media, and other channels.
  • Support the planning and execution of communication campaigns and events.
  • Collaborate with teams across VMCH to share stories and key updates.
  • Ensure brand consistency and tone of voice across all communications.

About you:

  • You’re a confident communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, people-focused environment.
  •  You’re curious, adaptable, and always looking for ways to improve how we connect with our audiences.
  • You bring warmth and professionalism to your work, and you’re just as comfortable writing an executive level update as you are crafting a social media post.
  • You enjoy working with others, take initiative, and bring a positive energy to the team.

What you’ll need:

  • 2–4 years’ experience in a communications, marketing or media role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a flair for storytelling.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with confidence.
  • A collaborative, can-do attitude and a passion for purpose-driven work.

What we offer?

  • A collaborative and energetic team environment
  • Part-time role (0.6 FTE) offers flexibility around days and hours—whether you prefer three full days or to spread your time across the week
  • Excellent salary packaging benefits
  • A competitive salary
  • A central location with easy access to public transport, shops, cafes and bars
  • Ongoing professional development
  • A positive and supportive workplace culture
  • Employee Assistance Program
