The Opportunity

We’re excited to introduce a newly created Bulk Container Manager role, based at any Collections Branch in a capital city. This role is central to ensuring our container assets are the optimal type, at the right place, in the right condition, at the right time.

You’ll be responsible for maintaining visibility of container inventory across all regions—tracking availability, deployment, purchasing and repair status to support operational readiness and service excellence.

Key responsibilities include:

  •  Forecast container requirements proactively based on service growth, customer demand, seasonal fluctuations, contract wins, and project-driven changes.
  • Develop capability plans that balance operational needs, capital constraints, and service-level commitments, ensuring the right mix and volume of containers are available at the right time.
  •  Develop capability plans that balance operational needs, capital constraints, and service‑level commitments.Coordinate with operations, fleet, and commercial teams to ensure container availability aligns with routing, network design, and customer requirements.
  • Oversee the redeployment, refurbishment, or retirement of containers based on age, condition, utilisation, and commercial value.
  • Maintain accurate asset tracking, including container status, location, movement history, and associated costs, ensuring data integrity for financial and operational reporting.
  • Develop and implement standard processes for container allocation, approvals, repairs, and replacements to improve efficiency and control.
  • Analyse utilisation trends and operational feedback to identify opportunities for efficiency, cost reduction, and service improvement.
  • Partner with procurement and finance to manage container purchasing, capex planning, and vendor performance for repairs or manufacturing.
  • Provide regular reporting to SBUs and senior leadership on container utilisation, capital requirements, risks, and optimisation initiatives.
  • Support tender responses, customer onboarding, and service changes by ensuring container availability and readiness.
