The Plumber Utility Mechanic II performs skilled work at the journeyman level in the heating, plumbing, mechanical piping and structural steel trades. Fabricates, installs, maintains, and repairs heating, plumbing, mechanical piping systems, structural steel, package boiler equipment and water treatment, kitchen equipment, auxiliary equipment, steam, water, gas systems and other building mechanical equipment; auxiliary equipment, steam, water, sewers both sanitary and storm, irrigation systems gas and air systems and other building mechanical equipment; above and underground steam, domestic water, HVAC (chilled and hot water), sanitary and storm distribution systems; firing, tending and maintaining pressure boilers to supply heat for buildings and domestic hot water.
