Job Summary: The Assistant Director of Admissions Campus Visits oversees all aspects of the University’s Campus Visit program including daily campus tours, group tours, and in-depth visits. Ensures sufficient coverage to assist visiting prospective students and their guests in the office of Undergraduate Admissions and the Welcome Center.
Additional Department Summary: Provides support in the University's efforts to identify, recruit, admit, and enroll qualified undergraduate and/or graduate students. Serves as an on-campus and field representative for the admissions office. Provides assistance with operational, leadership, and supervisory support to the Director of Undergraduate Admission Events in UA's effort to identify, recruit, and enroll qualified undergraduate students. Provides supervision and guidance to staff and student assistants, to ensure there is sufficient coverage to assist visiting prospective students and their guests in the office of Undergraduate Admissions and the Welcome Center.
Work hours will include some nights and weekends dependent upon the schedule of Undergraduate Admissions Events. Some travel is required.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and six (6) years of recruitment, university admissions, public relations, marketing, sales, or communications experience; OR master's degree and four (4) years of recruitment, university admissions, public relations, marketing, sales, or communications experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge: Basic working knowledge in the usage of personal computers and standard application software (word processing, spreadsheet and/or database management programs). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. The ability to travel alone out of town, sometimes overnight. An interest in working with prospective college students and their families. The ability to work with various groups of people. Ability to stand for long periods. Ability to lift and to carry large quantities.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree. Two (2) years working with university student organization(s). Knowledge of a Customer Relationship Management software system.
