Job Summary: The Admissions Representative I counsels individuals throughout the admissions and enrollment process based on their individual circumstances or needs. Evaluates prospective student’s academic preparation and interests to determine appropriate opportunities at the University. Represents the University at on- and off-campus events and information sessions. Provides superior customer service for prospective students and families.
Additional Department Summary: Serves as the Capstone College of Nursing’s primary recruitment representative in the North Alabama geographic territory. Develops and maintains relationships with prospective students and their families, healthcare organizations, high schools, community colleges, alumni, and other community partners to advance the College’s enrollment goals. Promotes nursing education opportunities at the Capstone College of Nursing, provides accurate admissions guidance, identifies prospective students, coordinates recruitment activities, and connects interested students with appropriate College and University resources. Monitors regional recruitment trends and healthcare workforce needs to inform the College’s recruitment strategies. Frequently travels throughout the assigned territory and periodically travels to The University of Alabama campus are required.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of student recruitment, admissions processes, and enrollment management principles. Strong public speaking, presentation, and relationship building skills. Ability to represent the College and University professionally in external settings. Ability to work independently in a remote, territory based position while maintaining consistent communication with College personnel. Excellent problem solving, follow through, and customer service skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment. Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, alumni, healthcare partners, schools, colleges, and community organizations. Ability to communicate admissions information accurately while referring application review and admissions decisions to the appropriate University or College personnel. Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to analyze recruitment information and use data to guide outreach strategies. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of nursing education pathways, academic progression options, and healthcare workforce needs.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in education, communications, counseling, marketing, nursing, healthcare administration, or a related field. Experience in student recruitment, admissions, higher education, healthcare outreach, community engagement, marketing, or a related area. Experience developing and sustaining relationships with community partners. Experience using customer relationship management, student information, or other database systems. Experience recruiting students for nursing, healthcare, or other professional academic programs. Experience developing recruitment territories or referral networks. Experience presenting to large groups and coordinating recruitment or outreach events. Familiarity with enrollment management practices and prospective student engagement strategies.
