Kenyon College invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor in Science and Nature Writing with an appointment in the Department of English starting July 2025. We seek candidates who can contribute to the college’s vibrant Science and Nature Writing initiative that encourages artful, creative, and accurate writing about the natural world. Teaching expectations are five courses per academic year, including courses in the English department and possibly in other departments that contribute to Science and Nature Writing, such as Environmental Studies, Biology, Chemistry, or Physics. Applications are also welcome from candidates who could contribute courses to other departments. Opportunities exist to contribute to the continued development of the Science and Nature Writing initiative through participation in the steering committee and planning of events and activities. Applicants are expected to have prior teaching experience and must have completed an MFA, Masters in Science Writing, PhD, or other relevant graduate degree.
