The English Department at Kenyon College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in twentieth- and twenty-first century poetry and poetics with a specialization in global Anglophone poetry (effective July 1). The candidate may focus on one or more specific regions or on transnational networks or orientations. Strong candidates with expertise in multi-ethnic U.S. poetry will also be considered. We encourage applications from candidates who are also practicing poets. The teaching requirement will be 3:2 or 2:3. Ph.D. in English or Comparative Literature required by July 1, 2019. Candidates should submit a letter of interest; a curriculum vitae; three letters of recommendation (at least one of which must speak to the candidate’s teaching); an unofficial transcript; and a writing sample of up to 25 pages. The letter of interest should detail research interests and teaching experience and philosophy, including ways that issues and practices related to diversity, inclusion, and equity have been or will be included in teaching and advising. Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Economics

Kenyon College, a highly selective, nationally ranked liberal arts college in central Ohio, invites applications for a Tenure-Track position in Economics at the rank of Assistant Professor or instructor level beginning in July 2019. The successful candidate should demonstrate a strong interest and competence in teaching undergraduates, a commitment to research and an ability to work successfully and collaboratively in an inclusive environment. Particular consideration will be given to candidates with teaching and research interests in macroeconomics and monetary economics.
The economics program at Kenyon emphasizes economic theory, public policy applications, and empirical analysis. Teaching responsibilities are five courses per year. Richard L. Thomas Professor in Creative Writing

The Kenyon College English Department invites applications from distinguished, mid-career teachers and writers for an endowed chair in creative writing, to begin in August 2019. Appointment rank will depend on prior experience. A preference will be given to writers of fiction and/or nonfiction prose, especially in innovative subfields such as graphic, speculative, or young adult literary fiction. A successful candidate will already have earned significant public recognition. The Thomas Professor will be in residence throughout the academic year, with a 2/2 teaching load primarily dedicated to courses in fiction-writing and nonfiction-writing at all levels. This position will require contributions to the life of the English department and the College (including advising students, directing honors projects, and participating in faculty governance). This chair will also have significant leadership expectations for enhancing, developing, diversifying, and supporting the department’s creative writing curriculum. Qualifications include significant teaching experience and publication in fiction and/or nonfiction prose (at least two books). Ph.D. or MFA preferred.
