Job Responsibilities:
The Department of English, Fine Arts, and Communications at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professorship in Communications starting August 2025. The successful applicant will primarily teach lower-division and upper-division classes in the field of Communications, with an emphasis on Strategic Communications and Professional and Technical Communications. Other teaching opportunities may include developing special-topics freshman seminars and new Communications courses in the candidate’s field of specialty. The standard teaching load is four courses per semester.
Preferred Qualifications:
We are especially interested in applicants from a range of disciplines, including political communications, digital communications, and business communications.
Minimum Qualifications:
Successful applicants should have a Ph.D. in Communications or a closely related field in hand by start of employment. Applicants with doctorates in areas other than Communications, such as Composition and Rhetoric or English, should have other graduate credentials in Communications or a closely related field.
