
The Team:
The Office of the Chief Executive Hospitals South (CEHS) at the Department of Health Tasmania operates in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment, providing high‑level administrative and executive support to senior leadership. As an Executive Support Officer, the Office of the CEHS plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of executive functions through effective coordination, communication, and governance support. The Office of the CEHS is trusted to handle sensitive information with discretion, manage competing priorities, and support strategic and operational outcomes. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, the Office of the CEHS contributes to a positive workplace culture focused on professionalism, adaptability, and continuous improvement in support of Tasmania’s public health objectives.
The Role:
Provide high-level executive, secretarial and administrative support to the Chief Executive Hospitals South (CEHS).
As a member of the Office of CEHS, demonstrate a high degree of initiative and confidentiality and be the primary point of contact for the Office.
You will need to:
- Provide high-level direct executive support to the CEHS, including managing email workflow, electronic diary management, scheduling appointments, organising meeting requirements, collation of papers, and preparing and handling highly confidential, politically sensitive, and complex documentation and enquiries.
- Contribute to the efficient and effective workflow and sharing of information across the Department of Health, Office of the Secretary, and the Minister’s Office by providing a single focal point for incoming and outgoing high-level communications and documentation for Hospitals South.
- Research, analyse and collate information required for background notes, briefing material, and other information for use by the CEHS.

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $81,915 to $94,263 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
