
About the Department
The Department of Health is the largest agency in the Tasmanian State Government and is the largest employer in the state of Tasmania. We provide essential services including inpatient, outpatient, community health, child community health and residential aged care. We provide healthcare across acute care, sub-acute care, emergency care, non- admitted care, allied health, primary healthcare, palliative care, dementia services, specialised case management services, oral health, cancer screening, mental health, alcohol and drug services and corporate functions. Our hospitals include Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General, Northwest Regional Hospital and Mercey Community Hospital. Ambulance Tasmania is also part of the Department of Health.
About the team
Recruitment Services is implementing a new statewide operating model and structure designed to strengthen recruitment capability, improve consistency, and support a more modern end‑to‑end service across the Department of Health. We’re building a stronger, more specialised team to support consistent end‑to‑end recruitment across the Department, and we’re recruiting to multiple roles as part of this implementation.

About the Role
- Demonstrated ability to support senior leaders in driving strategic priorities including in the design, implementation and delivery of contemporary recruitment service models, contributing high-level input, concept development and practical application of project management methodologies.
- Proven capacity and capability to support the implementation of agencywide talent acquisition strategies, including leading designated award teams and aligning recruitment outcomes with broader organisational priorities.
- Extensive experience providing high-level advice on awards, classifications, role design and contract provisions, ensuring accurate interpretation, consistency and compliance across a large and complex organisation.
- Strong leadership, mentoring and people management skills with a focus on building culture, capability, performance, engagement and continuity across recruitment teams.

Details of appointment
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary
$128,102 - $134,832 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with the Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Award (HAHSA) and the Public Sector Union Wages Agreement (PSUWA)

Eligibility

- A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or other related field.
- Significant demonstrated experience as a recruitment partner in a large, diverse or complex environment.
