The Role:
We are seeking a motivated Allied Health Assistant to join our Outpatient Rehabilitation team.
In this role, you will support a diverse group of disciplines—Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Dietetics, Psychology, and Social Work—to deliver effective, client-centred therapy programs. You will assist with both individual and group interventions, contributing directly to improving patient outcomes.
You will also play a key administrative role, coordinating and scheduling appointments, ensuring smooth service delivery for both clients and clinicians.
The Team:
Outpatient Rehabilitation is a multidisciplinary Allied Health Service supporting clients transitioning home after inpatient care. Based at Launceston General Hospital, we deliver goal-focused, time-limited therapy for individuals experiencing physical, emotional, and/or cognitive challenges following a recent medical event.

You will need:

Strong communication skills to build rapport with clients and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Solid computer skills, with a willingness to learn new systems for the purpose of appointment scheduling and documentation

Ability to support a range of allied health disciplines in delivering therapy programs

A proactive, organised approach and willingness to contribute to both clinical and administrative tasks

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $67,193 to $72,126 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Eligibility:
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Certificate IV in Health Service Assistance (Allied Health Assistance) or equivalent qualification
- Tertiary student of a relevant and approved allied health course of study at a recognised tertiary institution
