Job description:
Be part of enriching Tasmania’s social and cultural life through maintaining the living collections, plant displays, and estate of the RTBG.
About the role
The Horticulture Assistant will undertake horticultural maintenance activities to support the ongoing management of the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens (RTBG) living collections, and will play a key role in supporting the organisation on weekends.
- Assist in supporting the horticultural work programs across the Gardens
- Provide key support to our Events team on weekends
- Monitor plant health and development.
- Maintain the automatic irrigation systems, horticultural equipment, and machinery.

Desirable requirements
- A Certificate III in Horticulture or an equivalent level, relevant to the nature of the work to be undertaken, as provided by either a vocational education organisation or a registered and accredited training provider.
- Chemical certification.
- Workplace Level 2 First Aid certificate.
- A current motor vehicle driver’s licence (manual).
