Position Function:
Responsible for leading departmental activities and strategies as it relates to the planning, evaluation, tracking and distribution of revenue share payments to student-athletes and cap management. Also responsible for conducting market analysis and research as it relates to student-athlete business development opportunities, including Name, Image and Likeness (NIL).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Direct and oversee the day-to-day operations of Mississippi State athletics’ player management process.
2. Serve as a visible, positive ambassador for Mississippi State Athletics in all public-facing responsibilities, creating successful partnerships with external stakeholders (local, regional, state, campus, and industry-specific).
3. Consistently communicate with the Athletic Business Office, Office of General Counsel, Compliance, Sport Administrators, and Executive Cabinet regarding player contracts and cap management.
4. Serve as departmental point of contact with player representatives (agents, etc.).
5. Coordinate the evaluation process with coaches and sport program personnel regarding student-athlete talent assessment.
6. Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of the House v. NCAA settlement terms.
7. Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of NIL legislation at the Federal, State, NCAA and Conference levels.
8. Maintain knowledge of best practices and strategies related to player management to ensure competitive recruiting.
9. Develop and implement market evaluation criteria as system of checks and balances for student-athletes in their search for and negotiation of agreements.
10. Implement and execute robust analytical processes to measure, monitor, track, and optimize athlete NIL and business development opportunities.
11. Collaborate with Assistant AD – NIL Administration & Partnerships, compliance department and third-party vendors to develop continuing NIL education programming for student-athletes, coaches/staff, stakeholders, agents, etc.
12. Create and manage the Student-Athlete Brand Services Annual Summary.
13. Other duties as assigned by Director of Athletics or Deputy Athletic Director/General Manager for Student-Athlete Brand Services & Business Development.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field
- Experience: 4 years within stakeholder, student-athlete recruiting, player personnel
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a power conference program and or professional sports organization (NFL, NBA, etc.);
- Experience communicating with athlete representation;
- Experience as a sport administrator;
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
2. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
3. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
4. Ability to interpret, analyze, and advise on the application of compliance laws to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions.
5. Knowledge of federal, state and university compliance laws, guidelines, and procedures.
6. Skill in developing policy and procedure documentation.
7. Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.
8. Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential and regulations, as appropriate.
9. Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information and to maintain high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
10. Ability to write reports containing technical information.
11. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
12. Knowledge of NCAA and SEC rules and regulations.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
• No unusual physical requirements. Requires occasional light lifting. Nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility.
• Frequent- external imposed deadlines; set and revised beyond one’s control; interruptions influence priorities; difficult to anticipate nature or volume of work with certainty beyond a few days; meeting of deadlines and coordination of unrelated activities are key to position; involves conflict-resolution or similar interactions involving emotional issues or stress on a regular basis.
• Job occasionally requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, and handling objects with hands.
• Job occasionally requires standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
• Ability to travel extensively.
