Program Advisor - TRIO Educational Talent Search (College of Education) Grand Rapids
The TRIO Talent Search program in the College of Education (COE) is seeking a 12 Month Program Advisor who will recruit and advise eligible participants in the program to assist in retention and graduation efforts, as well as college planning including admissions applications, other student success topics, and financial aid. Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, or closely related field required. Two years non-supervised experience working with 6-12 grade or post-secondary students in advising, conducting workshops and field trips required. Experience working with low-income, first generation students required. Master’s degree in education, counseling, or social work preferred. Bi-lingual Spanish speaking candidates preferred. Must be able to work occasional weekend or evening hours as well as have reliable transportation. Having overcome barriers similar to those of our students is a bonus.
Assistant Director of Alcohol and Other Drugs Campus Education Services (ACES) - University Counseling Allendale
The ACES assistant director is a member of the University Counseling Center’s (UCC) administrative team and provides collaborative vision and leadership for the management of ACES prevention, education, and recovery services, supervision and performance evaluation for ACES staff, and campus leadership to shape a community that engages and challenges students to make healthy life-long decisions regarding alcohol and other drugs. The assistant director also assists the administrative team in creating a culture of organizational health. In conjunction with the UCC director, the assistant director will make decisions regarding the ACES service model to meet best practice standards and innovate to meet student needs.
