TRIO Advisor - TRIO Teacher Preparation Student Support Services (College of Education) Grand Rapids
Applicants are required to have an earned a Bachelor’s degree in education, public administration, or a human service related field, or Baccalaureate Degree with combined years of service in TRIO or advising, and at least one year of relevant experience. The candidate must have: demonstrated understanding of academic program planning and advising developmental theory with related experience; strong communication and organizational skills; and an understanding of and preference for collaborative approaches to planning and problem solving. Preference will be given to candidates who have the following: experience working in a college setting support program with at-risk students and are familiar with needs of disadvantaged and returning adult students; and individuals who have succeeded in overcoming barriers similar to those confronting the program’s target population. Director of Housing and Residence Life Allendale
Grand Valley State University seeks an accomplished and innovative Director of Housing and Residence Life (HRL), responsible for planning and leading self-funded, university-owned-and-operated residence halls and apartment housing. The director will provide for a comprehensive, contemporary, professional, and service-oriented Housing and Residence Life department. This is a highly visible, senior role within the Division of Student Affairs and is responsible for creating conditions which foster student learning, engagement, and success, while also assuring that the department is contributing to overall division and university objectives. The successful candidate arranges, directs, reviews, and monitors personnel activities for the University Housing and Residence Life department, including staffing projections, compensation, staff development, and evaluation for 40 professional staff, 115 resident assistants, and 80 student staff. This will require strong strategic planning capability, proven administrative leadership, experience leading divisional diversity and inclusion efforts, excellent communication skills and the ability to partner with the faculty student staff and administrators to develop academic partnerships with various colleges including Living Learning Programs (LLP’s) to achieve campus wide goals.
Controller Allendale
The Controller serves as the University’s chief accounting officer and is responsible for providing the leadership, direction, coordination and management oversight of all functions associated with general accounting and reporting, grants accounting, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable including but not limited to the development and implementation of financial accounting processes, policies and procedures for the University. The Controller is also responsible for maintaining the University’s financial accounting systems, internal controls, and records to ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
