Summary:  The GVSU Scribe Academy is seeking a highly-motivated professional to coordinate activities in support of the GVSU Scribe Academy. The Program Coordinator will work with the GVSU Scribe Academy Director as assist with administrative and community engagement activities in this full time, 12-month administrative professional position. All work is directed toward coordinating the recruitment and educational support for students seeking employment as medical scribes. For more information:

Required Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health related field
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access 2016
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • One to two years in a higher education, administrative environment

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

  • Master's degree
  • Three to five years in a higher education, administrative environment

Responsibilities – Essential Functions:

  • Works closely with Director to develop and maintain systems for tracking applicants and learners.
  • Screens applicants for eligibility
  • Evaluates educational materials and assessments
  • Determines learner eligibility for certificates and distribution
  • Researches learning material citations using library, internet and other resources
  • Assesses suitable educational materials and obtains licensing and copyright permissions
  • Develops and maintains database systems and reports
  • Gathers, cleans and reports on data collected via systems supporting the Scribe Academy
  • Builds and maintains relationships with college student organizations and communities
  • Some travel in West Michigan required
  • Other duties as assigned
