TRIO Advisor - TRIO Teacher Preparation Student Support Services (College of Education) Grand Rapids
Applicants are required to have an earned a Bachelor’s degree in education, public administration, or a human service related field, or Baccalaureate Degree with combined years of service in TRIO or advising, and at least one year of relevant experience. The candidate must have: demonstrated understanding of academic program planning and advising developmental theory with related experience; strong communication and organizational skills; and an understanding of and preference for collaborative approaches to planning and problem solving. Affiliate Faculty of Instruction - Environmental and Sustainability Studies (Brooks College of Interdisciplinary Studies) Allendale, Grand Rapids
The Environmental and Sustainability Studies (ENS) program at Grand Valley State University invites applications for an affiliate faculty member with expertise in interdisciplinary environmental and sustainability studies. The program is particularly interested in hiring an instructor with competency in one or more of the following areas: energy and climate change, environmental history, urban studies. The Affiliate Faculty of Instruction position is a full-time, non-tenurable appointment that is indefinitely renewable. The expected start date is August 2020. The faculty member will teach four courses per semester in ENS, and as needed, in other programs within the Brooks College of Interdisciplinary Studies. This is a teaching appointment with limited service and research expectations. This position is intended to complement existing strengths in a small but rapidly growing program that practices interdisciplinary studies as drawing from multiple disciplinary locations, works across and for cultural communities, and engages with varied methodological and theoretical frameworks. The program offers a BA, BS, and a minor in environmental and sustainability studies, as well as an undergraduate certificate in sustainable food systems. We are particularly interested in applicants who have experience with place-based and community-based learning, and with the use of practical collaborative projects in classes. Director of Housing and Residence Life Allendale
Grand Valley State University seeks an accomplished and innovative Director of Housing and Residence Life (HRL), responsible for planning and leading self-funded, university-owned-and-operated residence halls and apartment housing. The director will provide for a comprehensive, contemporary, professional, and service-oriented Housing and Residence Life department. This is a highly visible, senior role within the Division of Student Affairs and is responsible for creating conditions which foster student learning, engagement, and success, while also assuring that the department is contributing to overall division and university objectives. The successful candidate arranges, directs, reviews, and monitors personnel activities for the University Housing and Residence Life department, including staffing projections, compensation, staff development, and evaluation for 40 professional staff, 115 resident assistants, and 80 student staff. This will require strong strategic planning capability, proven administrative leadership, experience leading divisional diversity and inclusion efforts, excellent communication skills and the ability to partner with the faculty student staff and administrators to develop academic partnerships with various colleges including Living Learning Programs (LLP’s) to achieve campus wide goals.

The Controller serves as the University’s chief accounting officer and is responsible for providing the leadership, direction, coordination and management oversight of all functions associated with general accounting and reporting, grants accounting, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable including but not limited to the development and implementation of financial accounting processes, policies and procedures for the University. The Controller is also responsible for maintaining the University’s financial accounting systems, internal controls, and records to ensure the integrity of financial reporting.

Temporary Part-time Massage Practitioner - Recreation and Wellness Allendale
Services provided include chair massage, full body massage, maintain client paperwork and forms. Must have completed all coursework to become a massage practitioner, including all practical hours, and provide proof of completion of both national exam and license. Starting wage is based on experience and skills. Massage Practitioner position may work an average of 15 hours a week and have additional opportunities to work events. This is a part-time non-benefited position.
