Job Summary:

The Third-Party Receivables Officer is responsible for the daily data entry on student accounts related to third party processing. Responsible for processing information in governmental databases and adheres to all governmental requirements. This requires becoming certified and maintaining certification as a “certifying official.” Assist with all other collection processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Processes third-party payments in Banner on Student Accounts
  • Works closely with the Military & Post Traditional Services to ensure student benefits are posted and allocated correctly.
  • Work with outside entities to ensure billing is processed accurately and promptly to ensure timely payments.
  • Work with different billing systems for invoicing semester charges and coordination of benefits.
  • Monitor Third Party email and respond to students and entities as needed.
  • Monitor accounts to verify that all benefits have been processed appropriately and request adjustments through the VA office as needed.
  • Prepares direct vouchers for refunds to Third Party entities.
  • Makes simple mathematical calculations.
  • Assist with the student re-registration and late add process.
  • Serve as back up cashier
  • Assist at orientation, preview days, student events and other activities as requested.
  • Responds in a timely manner to students by phone, email, or in person.
  • Contacts students for payment of recoveries made due to Third party adjustments.
  • Works in conjunction with other departments to resolve student account disputes.
  • Prepare monthly and yearly balance reconciliations.
  • Assist with collection of AR and Logan Walker loan debt as directed by the Manager of Collections and Receivables.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, and
  • at least one (1) year related work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one (1) year experience in collection techniques and knowledge of student loan regulations
