Lehigh University is seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Director of Sports Medicine to join our Athletics Staff team. As the Assistant Director of Sports Medicine, you will work closely with the Director of Sports Medicine, providing exceptional healthcare services to our student-athletes. Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring the physical, mental, emotional, and educational well-being of our athletes, while delivering high-quality medical care to support their performance and recovery.
Key Accountabilities:
Injury Prevention and Management:
• Implement strategies to prevent injuries among student-athletes.
• Assess and diagnose injuries, develop treatment plans, and oversee rehabilitation programs.
• Provide the utmost quality of health care for all student-athletes.
Emergency Care and Response:
• Provide immediate medical care and attention to injured student-athletes.
• Coordinate emergency response protocols and procedures.
• Ensure student-athletes' physical and mental well-being.
Treatment and Rehabilitation:
• Administer appropriate therapeutic treatments and modalities.
• Design and monitor comprehensive rehabilitation programs for injured student-athletes.
• Contribute to student-athletes' educational well-being.
Medical Documentation and Record-Keeping:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for student-athletes.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and protocols.
• Support student-athletes' emotional well-being.
Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with coaches, trainers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, and staff.
• Specific duties assigned by the Director of Sports Medicine.
Continuing Education and Professional Development:
• Stay current with the latest advancements and best practices in sports medicine.
• Attend relevant conferences, workshops, and training programs.
• Contribute to the overall success of the athletic programs.
This role requires a strong commitment to excellence, a thorough understanding of sports medicine practices, and the ability to collaborate effectively with coaches, trainers, and other healthcare professionals.

This position is a Grade: 8 - 40, offering an approximate salary of $46,180-$55,420 and is subject to change based on experience, skills and qualifications. The duties of the position do not allow for a remote work option; the employee in this position will be required to work on campus where they can be fully accessible to the Lehigh community. Qualifications:
• Master's Degree in Sports Medicine or related field
• One to three years of work experience
• Experience as a Certified/Licensed Athletic Trainer in the collegiate setting preferred
• NATA National Certification preferred
• State Licensure preferred
• CPR/First Aid Certification preferred
• Valid Driver’s License and good driving record
