Lehigh University, a renowned R1 research institution, is seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician to contribute to groundbreaking research in the Olfactory Circuits Lab within the Department of Biological Sciences. This unique opportunity offers extensive hands-on training and experience in advanced experimental techniques, including the management of an experimental mouse colony.
Position Number: S72410
This position is a Grade: 8 - 37.5 with an approximate salary range of $43,940-$52,740 and is subject to change based on experience, skills and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the experimental mouse colony, including husbandry and breeding protocols
• Assist with conducting research experiments and data collection
• Maintain lab equipment, inventory, and supplies
• Contribute to the analysis and interpretation of research data
• Participate in lab meetings and collaborate with research team members
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences, a related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience
• One to three years related lab work experience, including core wet lab skills such as pipetting, molarity calculations, maintenance of lab notebook and records, and following and developing experimental protocols
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent time management, with proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and a high degree of initiative for bringing tasks to completion
• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build, foster and maintain positive professional relationships
