Lehigh University's Department of Athletics is seeking an accomplished golf coach and mentor to lead the Men's Golf program into its next chapter of competitive and academic excellence. This position is a Grade: 8 - 40 with an approximate salary range of $47,570 - $57,090 and is subject to change based on experience, skills and qualifications.
What You'll Lead
As Head Coach, you will hold full accountability for the Men's Golf program within the Patriot League and NCAA Division I framework. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Teach, instruct, and develop student-athletes in the technical, tactical, mental, and physical aspects of competitive golf
- Create and implement comprehensive practice plans, individualized training regimens, and tailored course-management strategies
- Establish the program's coaching philosophy, determine tournament lineups, and prepare the team for conference, regional, and national competition
- Design and execute a comprehensive recruiting strategy to identify and secure prospective student-athletes who meet rigorous academic and athletic standards
- Coordinate all aspects of the prospect pipeline, including data-driven talent scouting, official and unofficial campus visits, and scholarship recommendations
- Monitor student-athlete academic progress in partnership with support staff while fostering an environment centered on integrity, accountability, and graduation
- Provide overall operational leadership for the Men’s Golf program, including tournament scheduling, practice facility coordination, and equipment procurement
- Responsibly prepare, manage, and track the program's annual operating budget, including comprehensive team travel logistics
- Hire, supervise, mentor, and evaluate assistant coaches and support staff to ensure a unified instructional approach
- Maintain strict compliance with all NCAA, Patriot League, and university rules, regulations, and mandatory reporting guidelines
- Cultivate positive, lasting relationships with alumni, parents, and donors to actively support departmental fundraising and program advancement
- Partner with Athletics Communications and Marketing to boost program visibility through media engagement, public speaking, and community outreach
What You Bring
- Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience; Master's Degree preferred
- Five to eight years of related work experience
- Experience as a student-athlete
- NCAA Certification required
- CPR/First Aid required
- A track record of supporting student-athlete academic success and personal development
- Ability to engage authentically with Lehigh's alumni network and institutional fundraising efforts
