Employer Engagement Specialist East Bay
Performs duties under the general supervision of the Director of the Career Empowerment Center (CEC) and direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Employer Relations. This position is primarily responsible for developing new and strengthening existing employer and industry partnerships. This includes but is not limited to program development, implementation, and evaluation. The Employer Relations Coordinator also serves as a consultant to academic and employer communities related to employment services; oversees the development of employer relations and employment opportunities within the local and global communities, and supervises the daily operation of employment connection and recruitment services, ensuring efficient and quality customer service and adherence to legal guidelines.
Locksmith East Bay
Under general supervision, incumbents in this classification perform the full range of skilled journey-level locksmith work. Incumbents assist in the development of master key systems and the design of special security devices and are independently responsible for the implementation and maintenance of these programs. Incumbents may provide instruction and lead direction to unskilled and semi-skilled assistants.
Director of Procurement East Bay
The Director of Procurement reports to the Associate Vice President for Financial Services and serves as the Chief Procurement Officer for Cal State East Bay. The position provides management, administration, and supervision for Procurement & Contract Services. Serve as key campus representative to interface and maintain strong communication and partnership with Chancellor’s Office legal team on procurement and contracts matters. Builds and fosters internal relationships with the campus departments, and externally with suppliers, regulatory agencies, the Chancellor’s Office, and other campuses to deliver strategic support to the campus departments. Identify and integrate creative solutions such as “procure to pay” (P2P), expansion of the university credit card program, strategic sourcing, eProcurement, contract management and vendor management.. Utilizes comprehensive campus and market data to identify strategic relationships, value-added solutions, manage strategic priorities. Be an active participating member and provide support to the CSU Chief Procurement Officers Association (CPOA). Develops, interprets, and applies policies, guidelines and procedures and ensures compliance with all standards and regulations of the CSU and State of California.
Associate Vice President of Financial Services East Bay
The Associate Vice President (AVP) of Financial Services reports to the Vice President, Administration and Finance/Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Incumbent provides effective management and oversight of financial services which includes the following functions: accounting, student financials, procurement, accounts payable, and the University Bay card program. The AVP provides leadership to a diverse financial support staff focused on delivering user-friendly services in an environment that is highly regulated and compliant driven and requires collaboration and transparency. Incumbent is responsible for advising and making recommendations to the Vice President/CFO relative to overall University objectives, policies, and plans whenever financial services is involved. As part of the Administration and Finance leadership team, the AVP collaborates with his/her peers to create innovative solutions to intra-and inter-division issues while focusing on the university’s strategic commitments and major goal of enhancing student success. The position is required to have direct contact with and responds to requests from the President, Vice Presidents, Deans, department heads, other senior campus officials, the Chancellor’s Office and the State of California Controller’s Office.
Accounting Technician II East Bay
This position is under the supervision of the Accounts Payable Manager and is primarily in the Accounts Payable unit. However, duties may also include support within other areas within Fiscal Services. This Accounting Technician II position is responsible for processing pay cycles for all AP invoices, including handling the wire payments in Wells Fargo, along with handling the voids and stop payments. In addition, incumbent will assist with the use of the current travel software, ensuring vendor set ups within the software, and maintaining data integrity, providing some functional support as well as training to end users. Lastly, incumbent will identify, track, and clear Accounts Payable compliance issues including but not limited to STD261s and Defensive driving mandatory coverage requirements. Duties will also include the maintenance of Accounts Payable records and email account.
Accounting Technician II East Bay
This position is under the supervision of the Accounts Payable Manager and is primarily in the Accounts Payable unit.  However, duties may also include support within other areas within Fiscal Services. The Accounting Tech II position is responsible for processing invoices for all AP payments, along with auditing travel reimbursements in current system. This lead position helps with any campus community questions, in addition to supporting the Accounts Payable Manager as needed for things like the trial register review, handling other tasks when the manager is out.  The incumbent will handle various trainings as it applies to travel, and hospitality policies.  Duties will also include the maintenance of AP records.
Grant Administration Specialist (Temporary) East Bay
The Grant Administration Specialist of the K-16 East Bay Collaborative is a temporary administrative position funded by a $4,000,000 grant from January 2024 to June 30, 2026, with no renewal. This state-funded grant is a collaboration between the Dean of the College of Education and Allied Studies (the Co-PI) and the following partners: San Francisco State, San Jose State, UC Berkeley, Chabot-Las Positas Community College District, Chabot College, Las Positas College, Contra Costa Community College District, San Leandro USD, Oakland USD, and several faculty and administrators on the Cal State East Bay campus. This position will report to the Dean of the College of Education and Allied Studies. The two primary duties of this position are to engage in grant administration and business processing of the grant.
Academic Enrichment Counselor (Temporary) East Bay
Under the general supervision of the Director of Affinity Programs and SEAS Engagement Initiatives, the EXCEL Academic Enrichment Counselor Trainee (Student Services Professional IB) will assist with undergraduate student services work characterized by student advising and guidance in individual and group settings. The EXCEL Academic Enrichment Counselor Trainee assists students to resolve any problem(s) that affects their ability to be successful in their educational and career pursuits and make appropriate referrals to campus services and other resources. This position assists with managing a caseload of students as they transition through counseling and advisement, referrals, and other forms of interventions toward graduation.
Senior Investigator & Deputy Title IX Coordinator East Bay
The Senior Investigator serves as the Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation (DHR) Administrator and Deputy Title IX Coordinator, conducting intakes and investigations as they relate to discrimination, harassment, (including sexual misconduct) and retaliation. The Senior Investigator ensures compliance with Title IX, Title VI, the CSU Nondiscrimination Policy, the CSU Interim Nondiscrimination Policy, applicable CSU Executive Orders, the Violence Against Women Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the California Fair Employment and Housing Act. The incumbent will compile data, interpret and analyze the facts, and provide written notices and investigation reports in a thorough and timely manner. This position requires employing dispute resolution, mediation, and problem-solving techniques to resolve issues on an informal basis consistent with the applicable CSU Policy. The incumbent will provide leadership for programming and education to prevent sexual misconduct and hostile environment issues, and serve on multidisciplinary committees that serve campus constituents. This role may be required to provide testimony regarding cases to outside agencies, provide advice and guidance to campus constituents, and interact with the CSU Office of the Chancellor, General Counsel, Civil Rights Attorney, Systemwide Director, Administrators, and colleagues at campuses within the CSU System. The Senior Investigator works independently and as a member of the Civil Rights Office team.
Nursing Lab Coordinator (Part-Time, Temporary) East Bay
Cal State East Bay’s Nursing Program offers nursing students access to low, mid, and high-fidelity simulation labs as part of their experiential learning and to enhance development of nursing skills and clinical reasoning. These labs offer hands-on experience with nursing interventions such as, administering medications, performing assessments, and using clinical judgment and reasoning in responding to critical situations. The experiential learning in simulation provides faculty members opportunities to assess learners’ development and mastery of critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills. Director of EOP, RSP & SEAS Affinity Programs East Bay
This position reports to the Associate Vice President, Equity & Belonging/Dean of Students and is responsible for providing vision, leadership, and management for all aspects of the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), the SEAS Affinity Programs (GANAS, PIAA, Sankofa), and the Renaissance Scholars Program (RSP). The Director manages the day-to-day operations of the advisors of each program and is responsible for developing strategic short and long range goals for the departments; providing effective training, ongoing supervision and evaluation; assuming all departmental fiscal and resource management; seeking grant funding opportunities and submitting proposals to supplement services and activities; establishing collaborative relationships with Academic Affairs and other Student Affairs programs and departments to develop partnerships, services, and activities which support student retention and graduation; and providing direct student service delivery. The Director ensures compliance with all federal, state, local and CSU regulations, mandates, and policies governing the operation of the department. In addition, the Director establishes consistent application for technology enhancements to improve service delivery and assumes ongoing assessment of student academic performance.
Financial Aid Business Analyst & State Aid Coordinator East Bay
Under the general supervision of the Associate Director of Financial Aid Operations, the Financial Aid Business Analyst & State Aid Coordinator is responsible for providing overall support for the PeopleSoft Financial Aid Module. This position works to increase productivity through improving automated practices and boosting system efficiency. This role serves as a lead within the Financial Aid Office to ensure consistent and accurate use of system functionalities. Additionally, this position provides ongoing assessment of complex issues and works to improve functionality of the Financial Aid Office. Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs East Bay
California State University, East Bay (Cal State East Bay) invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for the position of Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs (Provost). Reporting to the President, the Provost is the chief academic officer for the institution and serves on the President’s Cabinet. Working collaboratively across the institution, the Provost leads major academic components in support of the University’s mission. The Provost oversees a broad range of activities, many in collaboration with the Faculty Senate, including curriculum development and assessment, accreditation, student learning, faculty recruitment, development, retention, tenure and promotion, institutional research, enrollment management for matriculated students, faculty research and scholarship, and the Library. Embedded Counselor Faculty East Bay
Working under the supervision of the Director of Counseling, Embedded Counselors provide intake assessment, crisis intervention, and short-term individual, and couples, and group counseling to currently enrolled students. The Counselor in Housing works with on campus residents, and the Counselor in SEAS works with SEAS program participants. Embedded Counselors design and implement outreach programs and interventions, and serve as liaisons to their specific departments. The counselors contribute to the overall training of campus staff through workshops and mentorship, and may also provide individual and group supervision to pre-licensed MFT, MSW, and PCC interns.
Associate Counselor (Pool) East Bay
Associate Counselors, under the supervision of the Director of Counseling and their clinical supervisor, provide intake assessments, crisis intervention, and short-term individual and couples counseling to students of the University. They work collaboratively with counseling and medical staff to help students maintain optimum mental and physical health. The Associate Counselor may also provide group counseling and outreach presentations to the campus community in partnership with licensed clinical staff. This recruitment will be used to establish a pool of candidates for current and future temporary positions. These are temporary, part-time (0.60 time-base) positions through June 30, 2025, with the possibility of reappointment. This appointment cannot exceed 2 years in the position.
International Admissions Counselor East Bay
International Admissions is the primary department on campus responsible for the recruitment and admission of international students. It provides services to prospective international students, current international students, staff, faculty and members of the community-at-large who are seeking information or services relative to outreach, recruitment, pre-admission advising, and evaluation for the purpose of admitting international students to University degree programs and other international programs. The International Admissions Office staff support, promote, develop and implement international learning opportunities across the spectrum of University programs and assist all areas of the University in its mission to provide a globally relevant and informative education environment. This specialization includes developing skills in assessing international undergraduate, graduate candidates for admission for degree seeking students, and conditional admissions for undergraduate students, degree preparation programs, certificate programs offered by Global Academy department (including domestic applicants with international credentials), rendering admission decisions, and conducting full general evaluations for transfer students.
Accountant III East Bay
Reporting to the General Accounting Manager, this position focuses primarily on University-wide and Auxiliaries activities, with an emphasis on preparation and filing of various tax returns, government reporting as well as another regulatory agency reporting. In addition, the Accountant III will be heavy-handed in the preparation and coordination of year-end close. This position performs advanced professional accounting work involving the application of accounting principles and practices to the resolution of a wide variety of complex accounting problems. The Accountant III serves as a high-level individual contributor providing expertise and providing lead work direction to other professional and/or technical staff.
