Position Summary:      

The Part-Time Judaic Studies Teacher fosters meaningful engagement with Jewish texts, values, and traditions in a thoughtful and supportive classroom environment. This role helps students develop skills in learning, discussion, and personal connection to Limudei Kodesh.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Plan and teach engaging Judaic studies classes aligned with curriculum goals
  • Teach text skills (e.g., Chumash, Navi, or other subjects as assigned) with clarity and depth
  • Encourage thoughtful discussion and student participation
  • Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback
  • Create a respectful, structured classroom environment
  • Communicate with students, families, and colleagues as appropriate
  • Collaborate with faculty and participate in relevant school initiatives

Experience & Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
  • Background in Judaic studies required
  • Teaching experience preferred, particularly at the high school level

  • Strong text skills and the ability to teach them clearly
  • Ability to engage students with varying backgrounds and skill levels
  • Warm, respectful classroom presence
  • Organized, reliable, and flexible
