Department Overview:
The Wisconsin Union, often referred to as "the heart and soul" of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has enhanced the lives of members and visitors since it was founded in 1907. Since 1928, when the doors to Memorial Union opened, the Wisconsin Union has served as the living room of the UW-Madison campus. The Union connects students, faculty, staff, members, and visitors through shared cultural, social, and recreational events and experiences.

Unit Hours- Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm

Friday Flex day - 0-4 hours depending on projects

Position Summary/Job Duties:
Communicate with campus departments and community organizations about Wisconsin Union Theater (WUT) performances, events, and initiatives.
Invite specific groups to WUT season events and work with the Box Office Manager to secure tickets.
Work in concert with the marketing staff on promotional efforts such as tabling, flyering, and gorilla marketing efforts.
Draft email correspondence to campus and community members as needed.
Maintain databases of community contacts and engagement metrics.
Help compile reports on invitation efforts and community impact.
Qualifications:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Passion for theater, performing arts, or community engagement
Solid experience using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Adobe Acrobat (or willing to learn)
Preferred:
Experience in arts administration, nonprofit work, or campus programming
Working knowledge of the city of Madison and UW-Madison’s academic and non-academic units
Familiarity with social media or marketing platforms
Bilingual or multilingual skills a plus
Graphic design or basic video editing skills (helpful but not required)
Student Status
To be eligible for the Wisconsin Union positions, you must be currently enrolled in a college, university, or highschool (at least 16). It is not permissible to hire a person as a student hourly employee if they are taking credits merely to be eligible for student hourly employment. Review UW Policy 5003- Student Hourly Employment for more information. If school is in break period (summer, spring, winter), applicants must intend to enroll in courses the following semester.
