Department Overview:

The Office of Data, Academic Planning & Institutional Research (DAPIR) manages the structures needed to ensure the availability of accessible, usable, high-quality data at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which allows us to provide meaningful information and analysis. Along with our campus partners, we promote an institution-wide data strategy and the use of data to inform strategic initiatives and planning.

Schedule:

20 hours per week.

The Project Assistant will have some flexibility for when and where the work takes place. The position requires regular (weekly) check-ins with a DAPIR staff member to ensure that adequate progress is being made on deliverables and to guide the understanding of the data and development of reports.

$31.15, $1,246 bi-weekly

Qualifications:

This position is open only to full-time graduate students enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Experience and/or education in survey design and best practices; qualitative and quantitative data analysis; and ability to create clear, informative reports with effective narratives and visual displays.
• Ability to work in a highly collaborative and dynamic work environment.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

DAPIR seeks a graduate project assistant (PA). The PA will work collaboratively with staff in Institutional Research and Decision Support within DAPIR on projects related to survey administration and analysis.

Responsibilities will include:

• The focus of this role will be quantitative and qualitative analysis but may include managing all phases of the survey administration process including preparing reports to inform leadership and promote the deliberate use of data across the institution.
• Provides analysis and consultation on a variety of administrative-related matters
• Designs, collects, analyzes, and researches institutional data according to established procedures and regulations
• Prepares and disseminates institutional statistical reports to institutional programs, working units, and leadership

This position is eligible for graduate health insurance coverage and tuition remission.
