Who are we?

Entura is one of the world’s most experienced specialist power and water consulting firms. As part of Hydro Tasmania, Australia’s largest renewable energy producer and water manager, we are backed by more than 100 years of creating energy and maintaining power and water assets.

Growing to meet demand, Entura has many exciting career opportunities on offer across the renewable energy spectrum.  The work is diverse, dynamic and exciting and you’ll be working with some of the most experienced and inspiring experts in the industry – in teams that know how to have fun and thrive on challenges.  Make a difference and join us to create the safe, sustainable power and water solutions that will make life better for communities around the world.

In this role you will be supported to develop secondary and primary electrical testing and commissioning skills in a utility substation and hydro power-station environment. You will become an expert in testing protection relays, high voltage plant and metering equipment. You could also spend some time doing some SCADA or controls testing and design work.

What we are looking for:

You are a degree qualified Electrical Engineer that has already developed good skills in your field, ideally in a utility substation environment, and have a passion for field work and you are prepared to work across Tasmania spending time away from home. You will also come to us with expert computer skills.

You are bright, resilient, and have experience working with high energy electrical systems. You are willing and enthusiastic to learn from our experts. You’ll want to cement a career in the renewable energy industry, be very comfortable in shifting between the field and office environments, enjoy being challenged by multiple complex technical disciplines and technologies, and have a solid grounding in safety processes and business protocols.

Communication is one of your key strengths; you’re able to articulate your message both verbally and in writing to stakeholders at all business levels. You are a methodical and logical thinker with creative problem-solving skills. You’re a good team player and keen to roll your sleeves up and get the job done but with a strong attention to detail ensuring the work you’re producing is of very high quality.

Where you will be working:

Along with frequent state-wide travel in Tasmania you are willing to travel interstate and potentially internationally. Your main focus will likely be utilities-based projects in Tasmania's hydro power-stations, HV/LV substations, solar, wind farms and metering sites.
